The Office of the State Attorney General is an independent institution in accordance with Article 114 of the FGS Constitution, established by Law No. 18 issued on January 29, 1976. It advises the Federal Government, represents the State before the courts, publishes the Official Bulletin, and keeps the national legal archive so that laws and official acts are available to government agencies and the public.

Legal Adviser to the Government
The Office is the legal advisor of the Federal Government. It issues opinions on matters referred by the Presidency and by government members, so that public action remains within the law.

Legal Representation of the State
The Office represents the government and its agencies before the courts, protecting the rights, property, and public interest of the State in civil, administrative, employment, financial, and international cases.

Publisher of the Official Bulletin
The Office compiles and publishes the Official Bulletin, the public record of laws and official acts of the Federal Government, for government agencies and the public.
Legal Mandate
